OUR PROJECT
The Best Dives Maldives team has teamed up with Centara Rasfushi staff to implement the coral regeneration project at Centara Rasfushi. The vision is to create a coral garden to assist in the recovery of the house reef and an underwater playground where guests can enjoy snorkelling or a dive excursion.
The growth and development of the artificial reef have been encouraging. Slowly, different marine species are coming back to the reef. It will take many years to see corals grow into mature colonies. That is why continuous monitoring is necessary to reduce the risk of any damage.

Learning new things is fun! Join the weekly interactive talk at the dive centre or at the kid’s club to learn more about the coral project and other interesting facts about marine life.
GET INVOLVED
Check out and join the coral restoration events in the dive and watersports centre. Make your holiday more meaningful by participating in coral planting and restoration activities. Our team will take care of and maintain these newly planted corals to ensure their growth once placed in the ocean.
To see some of the planted corals, join our guided snorkelling tour at the house reef and see the teeming marine life on these artificial reefs. You’ll be amazed at how the small coral fragments planted just a few years back have grown into beautiful colonies.
